The following is an invitation extended to you all as a potential camp fundraiser. FOSA is hosting a "Rugby night" and they wondered if you would like to raise money by :-

Tui providing a sausage sizzle outside the hall for the rugby night – if they decide to take it on, it will be their responsibility to source everything they need and organise an adult to supervise. They could sell sausages to people as they come in and also at half time and could be a good little earner for them.

So if you are interested - Ask your parents if you are allowed to be involved and also whether or not they are prepared to be one of the supervising adults. The plan would be to create a roster!

Hi Tui,

Keep up the good work with the mihi work. The plan is you'll be able to recite it to me next week.
I'm working in Weka class in the morning but I'll pop in to our room at lunch time to get the books I need i.e. the children who are in WWI and WWII need to hand their reading books in!

Make sure you know what homework you need to get finished over the weekend. Don't leave it to the last minute guys,
See you tomorrow

Hi Tui,
Some of you had a go at an egg in vinegar experiment as part of your osmosis research...further information on www.ilovebacteria.com.
Have a look about what it says about the egg shell and then what happens to the egg when the shell has dissolved.
Might try to do this in class when we get some time.

Hi all

Looking forward to seeing your osmosis research tomorrow...hopefully some of you may even have carried out some experiments to share with the rest of the class.

Quick reminder...alphabet research is due in NEXT Monday and Ihope you've been using all the work we've been doing on note taking to help you write things in your own words. Another piece of work I'm looking forward to seeing.

I forgot to organise anything with Mrs J regarding you beating your spelling score...apologies about that everyone (I know you're all very shocked to discover I'm not perfect and that I forget stuff too!) Remind me about spelling reward tomorrow someone please.

Thanks to the ones that responded to my request as to how we record our visit to the National War Memorial. I have decided to let you choose the medium you want to use so long as you convey (show) how the visit effected you emotionally. Talk to me more about this. cheers Mrs J
Hi all, I trust you all have had a great sports day and didn't miss me too much??!! We had a great conference, lots of listening and idea sharing which was great. See you tomorrow Cheers Mrs J

Hi Tui,

And the class spelling score for this week is...

well, you'll just have to look on the door when you arrive in school.

Hi Tui
I'm going to pop into school Friday morning so before you go off on your travels can you please hand in your inquiry books. In there you should have finished the experiment about the potatoes and the effect of salt on them and you should have added your own conclusion by the time they're handed in.
Mrs Johnson was also hoping to give you some time to write up the method about the other experiment we've got on the go...potatoes and toothpicks one. So I'll be looking at that too.

Plus I'd like to see my reading groups work so WWI and WWII hand those books in too please.

Can you all help to make sure that this message gets passed on to everybody so that I get all the books I need.
Thanks!
Have a good morning

Hi everyone,
Just an update re the tests - it is a cost of $7.50 not $6.50. Also I want some form of reflection about our visit to the War Memorial. What form (poetry; question & answer; opinions;art) do you think we should do?
Cheers

Your comments

Hi guys, it is great to see you looking at the blog - well done. We need to have further discussion re the name with Mrs Watson.

I have also been meaning to tell you that if you want to enter the reading or maths Australian tests you are meant to bring $6.50 to school to enter. If you want to attempt the writing one - it will cost you $17.50. Please talk to your parents about this.

Cheers

From Ms Davies

Hi Tui
Mrs Johnson and I are sharing this so you'll have to check who each blog is from.

Anyway!!!!! I have a plan to do some experiments with potatoes over the next couple of days so if you can remember to bring one in that would be great!
And if anyone has toothpicks...they would be appreciated too.
See you tomorrow

Tui Class Mascot

Hi guys, we are going to begin a regular effort on this blog site. So tonight is the night!!
Finally we have our mascot ready to display in the room. What do you think of the design?
Re the name we have to check on using the prefix taka as it does have a meaning. Did you realise this? See if you can find out what meaning is and give your opinion as to whether you think it is still suitable.
Taka-Tui was the preferred choice.
Cheers Mrs D and Mrs J
