Now I forgot to say that athletics notices are due in tomorrow. We need parent help for next Wednesday as well as transport. Whoever reads this please get the txt chain going so everyone will know by tonight!! See you tomorrow.

HI Tui Class
I'm hoping we can use this blog more effectively this term!!
My thoughts are around our Integrated Inquiry - Animals in Captivity.... if you go to www.stuff.co.nz and put panda Napier in the search box at the top right you will find some articles about pandas.
What are your thoughts about keeping animals in zoos?
Are zoos and animal parks a good way to help with animal conservation or should we find new ways of protecting the animals in the wild?
Share your thoughts....
Mrs W :-)

He Reo Aroha
Hi guys, sorry this is late but I could not get on at home so have come into school this afternoon just for you!! Anyhow, your response is now due Thursday.
We were fortunate to attend the theatre show - He Reo Aroha. The writers of this show describe this show as " The script and story being written, then it was workshopped on the rehearsal floor with the cast and crew. Through the workshopping process there is room for the actors to physically explore what the writers have created."
Having viewed the production describe what you think the above description means.
The writers consider the themes that is focuses on as being:- love, commitment and choices (in life). Write three sentences to summarise what He Reo Aroha is about, speaking about these themes.
He Reo Aroha told the story of six different characters (can you identify them all?)using two different languages, across two countries, with all the characters leading very different lives.
Give your opinion of the production considering these facts.
Finally the writers consider this a very important play for New Zealanders to see. Do you agree or disagree with them? (don't forget to justify your opinion i.e say why!)

Abstract and Figurative Art Experience
On Thursday we were fortunate to have a day to experience art in a number of forms.
- Comment on your favourite sculpture and why this one appealed to you.
- What did you think of your experience in the Gallery? Comment on what you thought of the art work and then your experience in the workshop.
- What learning with Mrs Winnie were reinforced by attending the Art Gallery?
- Remember to always justify your opinion!

Welcome to Tui, 2010
Hi everyone, welcome to the senior class! I hope you have had a brilliant holiday and are now ready to have a great year.
This is the first post on our blog site. For some, including myself, using a blog site is a new experience. For those who already have some experience, be ready to educate the rest of us.
Year 7 students you will need to follow the site using your email and password from Kea Class blog. Year 8s you need to check with me to ascertain (to find out) your email and password details.
The link below is one of my holiday activities that I've had a great time following but has it has made me lose a great deal of sleep! Check it out and then see if you can tell the class what you have been up to over the summer break.
